In 1995 the Chairman of the Unesco Group Serron Aikaterini Emmanouilidou initiated a collaboration with other female members of Unesco in the Balkan countries. This collaboration brought about the creation of the Unesco Group Serron, with the help of worthy and reliable citiziens from Serres. These citiziens believe that the aims of the World Organisation should be in the following areas: Education, Science and Culture and that these areas should provide a service in the northern territory of the Greek mainland. We should point out that the first members of this group are:
